Jacob WolfDirector of Marketing and Communications

Jacob is our marketing guru having graced workplaces ranging from non-profit to the telecommunications industry. Father of 6 active children, he and his wife Renana make Bet Shemesh (suburb of Jerusalem) their home. Having served as a combact medic he was honorably discharged from the IDF Reserves in December of 2006. Since leaving he volunteers his skills for the blood bank of Magen David Adom (Israel’s Red Cross) and his local auxiliary police. Yoel WeilDirector of Operations

Yoel ensures every i is dotted and t crossed when it comes to our organization.  He worked for the last 19 years at the Jewish Agency of Israel.  He was in charge of absorption and employment for new immigrants in the Jerusalem area, and also organized the logistics for events when youth groups would come from abroad.  He emigrated from Switzerland to Jerusalem and served in the IDF for 3 years as a tank commander.  He has 4 children; 2 sons are currently serving in the army.  He is a member in his synagogue’s choir and takes an active role volunteering in many local projects.

Joseph ShermanEditor and Content Manager

Joseph engages our community with inside perspectives on business,cultural and social causes in Israel. Before
moving to Jerusalem in 2010, Joseph worked in project management and business consulting. Joseph grew up in Riverside, California. His parents live in Durham, North Carolina. He has one brother, who lives near Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Joseph lived in Israel for a year helping small non-profit organizations develop sustainability programs. He did an internship at the Bank of Jerusalem under the auspices of the Jewish Agency for Israel. He volunteers his expertise with Acumen Fund, a global venture fund addressing global poverty with entrepreneurship. Embracing Joseph is as easy as an email to joseph@embraceisrael.com

For Joseph’s favorite place:
One of my favorite places in Israel is the Hass Promenade.  With beautiful plants and flowers, the promenade majestically overlooks the Temple Mount and the Jerusalem Forrest.  Here I feel like I amwalking in the footsteps of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.
